Disposal Despair

Sometimes when our weather turns warm, we get complaints about one’s garbage disposal starting to reek or smell. This is a fun and easy fix.

To get rid of that summertime smell, grab a dozen or so ice cubes and let that disposal go to work! The ice will help keep the rotors sharp and remove the debris that has accumulated inside your disposer.

Some folks like to put a small amount of lemon or lime rinds in to freshen things up. Just be careful not to put too much of those in – no need to clog your drain on purpose.

This may be for a later discussion, but remember, no matter how new your disposal is, what really matters is how old that drain line is beyond your disposal.
